Saying ‘Thank You’

                           Bert King

On October 23rd Bert King celebrated his 90th birthday.  Happy Birthday Bert!  During our morning worship service that week, we were blessed to hear him sing solo, giving thanks and counting his blessings.  Let me tell you, there were not many dry eyes in the church that morning as he sang this beautiful hymn.

Thank You, Lord, For Your Blessing On Me

As the world looks upon me as I struggle along,
and they say I have nothing, but they are wrong
In my heart I’m rejoicing and how I wish they could see
Thank you, Lord, for your blessings on me.

There’s a roof up above me; I’ve a good place to sleep
There’s food on my table and shoes on my feet
You gave me your love, Lord, and a fine family,
Thank you, Lord, for your blessings on me.

I know I’m not wealthy and these clothes are not new
And I don’t have much money, but Lord, I have you
And to me that’s what matters – tho’ the world may not see
Thank you, Lord, for your blessings on me.

There’s a roof up above me; I’ve a good place to sleep
There’s food on my table and shoes on my feet
You gave me your love, Lord, and a fine family,
Thank you, Lord, for your blessings on me.

And Then We Said “Thank You”

What would we do without all of the wonderful people who take part in our Church and in our Faith Community. On Sunday, October 29th, the Board and Rev. Ian took the opportunity to say “thank you” to all of the volunteers who work so hard to make things happen in our church – from Worship in Word and Music, to outreach, to leadership, to fellowship and more.
