QUILTING GROUP: The next meeting of the Quilting Group will be May 14th at 7:30 pm in Trinity Hall.

BOOK CLUB: The next meeting of the Book Club will be May 29th at 7 pm in the Church Sanctuary. The book we are discussing is ‘Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine’ by Gail Honeyman. All are welcome.

REMINDERS:

UCW/Men’s Club:  We are going to Meadowcreek Retirement Home on Monday, April 29th. at 7:00 pm

Blended Voices Choir:  Practice Wednesday, May 1st (in preparation for May 5th Worship Service)

UCW Members - Help Needed:  Your assistance is needed with the Tasty Turkey Tea Take-Out. If each of you could bring 2 dozen peanut free cookies to the church by Thursday (May 2nd) at 7:00pm that would be great.  Also your help is needed to fold boxes, bag cookies and make salads Thursday night.  And then again on Friday morning at 7:00 am if you could come to the church to help cut out and package the teas, it would be appreciated.

2019 Turkey TeasLast Call!  Last Call!  TASTY TURKEY TEAS: Get your orders in for our delicious cold plates. If you ordered individual turkey teas, they can be picked up at Trinity Hall on Friday, May 3rd between 10:30 and 11:30 am.

And We Need Your HELP!  

  • Drop Cookies Needed - 175 dozen peanut free drop cookies. These can be dropped off at Trinity Hall on Thursday.
  • On Thursday evening, May 2nd at 7 pm help needed to fold boxes, bag cookies and make salads
  • On Friday, May 3rd at 7 am help needed to assemble the turkey teas.
  • Drivers - We also need drivers to deliver orders to work places. If you feel you can help with driving, please contact the church office at 368-2194

The UCW is hosting the Annual Spring Afternoon Tea and Bake Sale on May 11th (2pm - 4 pm), Trinity Hall, First United Church Mount Pearl. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children. 

Come on over!
Get your tickets at the door
(doors open at 1:30 pm)
Stock up on your baked goods and more!
Have a cup of tea, a cookie, muffin (or maybe both) and enjoy a couple of hours of fellowship!


Want to Contribute Items for the Sale?

If you would like to donate items for the bake sale and other sale tables, we would certainly appreciate it.  Just drop the items off at the church on Thursday or Friday, May 9th and 10th from 9 am – 1:00 pm or  7 pm– 8 pm on Friday night.

Food Bank Sunday at First United Church - May 5th:  The first Sunday of the month has been designated as Food Bank Sunday. Members of the congregation are asked to bring along any non-perishable food items and place them in the bin in the church vestibule. Envelopes are also available in the church pews if you would like to make a contribution. You can also visit their website, www.bridgestohope.ca, to make a donation online.

Beverage Container Recycling

Reminder to Support SNAC

SNAC, our Youth Group, Collects Recyclables.  The Beverage Container Recycling is an ongoing project for SNAC. They use the proceeds to help fund their activities.

If you would like to drop off your beverage recycling at the church, here’s what can be recycled: aluminum can; plastic containers; glass bottles; steel cans; drink boxes (tetra); mini sips (drink pouches) etc. (Please wash out all bottles and remove all caps before dropping them off.)  Please note: we are requesting beverage containers only!
