We've Started! Recipes from Our Congregation
This is it! We've officially started our collection. Thanks to Jackie and Ivan Sheppard who were the first to share some of their recipes and then to Beulah Noseworthy and Dorothy Latreille for sending us their favourites. We're betting you will want to try these out. Click here to see the Recipes from Our Congregation.
So what's it all about? Well, we are collecting and publishing our congregation's favourite recipes on our website. If you are a part of First United Church, we'd love to hear from you. Send us a recipe or two (or more) and we'll share them online. We've created a new page called Recipes from Our Congregation. You'll find it under Life and Work in the main menu.
How to submit your recipe
The recipe can be handwritten. It can be typewritten. It can be a picture. Just make sure we can read it easily. Tell us your first and last name so we can include it when we publish the recipe. And if the recipe came from a cookbook, tell us the name of the cookbook so we can acknowledge credits. Send the recipes and information by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or drop it off at the church office or use the Recipe Form provided on this site.
Be sure to tell your friends about our new project!
Send us your recipe using the following form. Remember to include your first and last name. And, if the recipe is from a cookbook, be sure to tell us the name of the book. You can type your recipe in the message box or attach a file (attachment can be Word Document, .pdf, .jpg or .txt format).

COMMUNITY FOOD BANK APPEAL

Donations can be dropped off during Sunday service or during office hours, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 1 pm. Envelopes are also available in the pews if you would like to make a contribution OR you can donate online on this website. Be sure to indicate the donation is for the Community Food Bank Appeal.
Thank you for your generosity and continued support.
Food Bank Sunday at First United Church - March 3rd: The first Sunday of the month has been designated as Food Bank Sunday. Members of the congregation are asked to bring along any non-perishable food items and place them in the bin in the church vestibule. Envelopes are also available in the church pews if you would like to make a contribution. You can also visit their website, www.bridgestohope.ca, to make a donation online.
Building Fund Sunday - February 24th: The last Sunday of the month has been designated as Building Fund Sunday. Envelopes are available in the church pews if you would like to make a contribution. Thank you for your continued support.
Beverage Container Recycling
Reminder to Support SNAC
SNAC, our Youth Group, Collects Recyclables. The Beverage Container Recycling is an ongoing project for SNAC. They use the proceeds to help fund their activities.
If you would like to drop off your beverage recycling at the church, here’s what can be recycled: aluminum can; plastic containers; glass bottles; steel cans; drink boxes (tetra); mini sips (drink pouches) etc. (Please wash out all bottles and remove all caps before dropping them off.)
From SNAC to all those who participate - Thank you for your support!
Mail Box for Your Convenience
We have a mail slot if ever you need to drop off mail or your favourite recipes. You'll find it to the right of the front door of the church. No worries about things being lost as the mail plots down into a locked box on the inside.
