Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all the generations.
You, O Lord, have been a dwelling place for us and our children.
Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
You, O Lord, have been with your church from the beginning!
God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble.
You, O Lord, have been our refuge and our strength!
The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
You, O Lord, are the eternal One and we have trusted you.
Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for God’s compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
You, O Lord, have been our faithful One!
Jesus said, "I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”
You, O Lord, have brought this congregation together and we have been blessed.

Prayer Group at First United
Thursday Mornings 10 am
First United offers a prayer group on Thursday Mornings at 10 am (approximately 1 hour ). We make use of different forms of prayers: spoken and silent, meditative and contemplative. There is a specific time that prepares us to receive the gift of prayer; prayer in which we experience God's presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship.
Why not join us in the sanctuary! All are welcome!
Chuckle for the Week: Bulletin blooper – Ladies, don’t forget the rummage sale. It’s a chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the house. Bring your husbands.
UCW Prepares Gift Bags
On November 12th the UCW held their monthly meeting and the annual shower for Emmanuel House/Carew Lodge.
As you can see from the photos, we won't have a problem filling the gift bags this year - personal care items, socks, mitts, warm scarves and the like. Each item will be put to good use.
It is always such a pleasure to deliver these bags to the residents. They are so appreciative. In some cases, it may be the only gift they will receive during the season.
Thank you to all who donated.
