CALL FOR FUNDRAISING IDEAS:
Our Membership and Social Action Committee along with the Ways and Means (Fundraising) Committee are coming together to increase our community presence and raise funds at the same time. If you have ideas for fundraising and/or ways we can further involve the community, please reach out to Lisa Walsh by email at

FISH AND BREWIS SUPPER FUNDRAISER: We will be having a fish and brewis supper fundraiser here at First United on Thursday July 30 at 5:30pm. The cost is $20 per ticket. The fish will be caught this summer by members of our congregation. Tickets are available at the church office during office hours and after church on Sunday. A chance to take a break from cooking on a hot summer day (we hope ☺)!

QUILTING GROUP: The next meeting of the Quilting Group is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, July 6th at 7:30 pm in the Multipurpose Room. All levels are welcome to join. For more information contact Pam Morgan at 709-691-0214 or pmorgan@mun.ca

FOOD BANK SUNDAY TODAY:  The first Sunday of the month has been designated as Food Bank Sunday. Members of the congregation are asked to bring along any non-perishable food items and place them in the bin in the church foyer. Envelopes are also available in the foyer if you would like to make a contribution. Bridges to Hope thank you for your generosity and continued support.

CALLING ON RECIPES:  Some of you may remember a few years back we had a recipe contest here at First United.  Recipes were posted on our website. Unfortunately, the website had issues and the recipes were lost from the website. If any of you have been looking for the recipes, we have decided to put together a recipe book as a fundraiser, ready to purchase during the fall. Of note, we have been able to retrieve the original recipes submitted for the contest from our office files. Hopefully, they have all been retrieved. If anyone would like to resubmit their recipes, please do so. More importantly, if anyone has any new recipes they want to submit to be included in the recipe book, please submit to the church office before the end of July. You can email them in or drop off at the church office or leave in the dropbox. Please make sure to put your name on them.  Thanks a bunch!!

Our Youth Group collects beverage containers for recycling. If you would like to drop off your beverage recycling at the church, here’s what can be recycled: aluminum can; plastic containers; glass bottles; steel cans; drink boxes (tetra); mini sips (drink pouches) etc. (Please wash out all bottles and remove all caps before dropping them off.) The Youth Group thanks you for your support.
